A little more
about me.

My work has taken me across various industries, from hospitality to engineering to venture capital, I now focus on building things using technology.

01 / Along the way

From service to science.

The people, places, and experiments behind the work.

F&B & hospitality

Whitebeard, then The Ritz-Carlton.

Before university, I worked in food and hospitality to experience the industry. First at Whitebeard Fish & Chips, then at The Ritz-Carlton.

Lab work

From hospitality to the lab.

I went on to work part-time in a lab, macerating kratom & ethanol to make supplements for reducing anxiety, before moving into marine research and engineering at Oceanway.

Oceanway / Research Assistant / 2022–23

Lettuce, circuit boards, and coral reefs.

At Oceanway, I helped build underwater blast detectors and went diving to place them at common illegal blast fishing locations. We also worked on a pilot project at SIMCA comparing lettuce growth across hydroponic systems and fertilizers, including Bokashi.

The work moved between physical prototypes, growing experiments, and the water. I also mentored students from CDNIS as they soldered basic circuit boards and built ROVs.

BrainSTEM / Mentoring & robotics

Helping students take an idea further.

I mentor high school students building remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROVs) and developing research for IEEE HK CT/OES Chapter conferences. That can mean soldering a board, testing a robot, or working out how to turn an experiment into a research paper.

At BrainSTEM, I also worked on the website, advertising, and promotional materials. More recently, I’ve helped first- and second-year Design Engineering and Technology students at SFU work with local AI models and connectors.

The March Group / VC Fellow / 2024–25

Looking at food and biotech from another angle.

Research focus
Food & biotech
From research to a decision
Due diligence → investment memos

At The March Group, I worked on due diligence across the food and biotech ecosystem: market research, investment committee memos, one-pagers, and presentations. After working on growing systems at Oceanway, I was looking at companies working in some of those same areas.

I also handled CRM work with private hedge funds, supported marketing and PR, and built the firm’s website and Python scraping scripts. Research, communication, and making things all had a place in the role.

02 / Outside work

Away from the desk.

Flying planes

I started flying at 17 and studied Aviation (Flying) at UNSW for 1 year. Here's a glimpse out of the window.

03 / Community & esports

Cupid Esports

Something to rally around.

I work with Cupid Esports to build their community and produce marketing videos, including this jersey reveal. In 2026, the team won the NACL in their first season in the league.
